How to Remove System32.EXE
Viruses and other malware are becoming harder and harder to distinguish from normal computer files and folders. System32.EXE is a prime example of this. System32 normally is a crucial folder on the Windows Operating System, but the file of the same name is actually a dangerous virus. It can hide itself in the computer with its camouflaged name and record inputs as well as monitor applications. There are a few ways to combat this issue, though, and rid it from the computer.

Using Unlocker to Remove
-
1
Download the "Unlocker" program by following the link (see Resources). This small application will allow the user to unlock all files that are write-protected and then be able to freely remove them.
-
2
Install the software by opening the downloaded file, then follow the prompts of the installation wizard.
-
-
3
Locate the System32.EXE file. It will most likely be housed in the C:\Windows\System32 folder, although it has occasionally been located in C:\ProgramFiles.
-
4
Right-click the file. From the pull-down menu click "Unlocker." This will open a new window, which displays all of the locks placed on the file, keeping it closed and unable to be deleted.
-
5
Click "Unlock All," which will open all the locks, then "Quit." You should now be able to remove the fie by selecting it and clicking "Delete."
Removal via Anti-Virus Program
-
6
Download a free anti-virus program (see Resources) if you do not currently have your own. Install it by double-clicking the downloaded file, then follow the prompts of the installation wizard.
-
7
Shut down the computer once the software has completed its installation.
-
8
Restart the computer. Once it begins to load, press F8 repeatedly. This will bring up a screen asking how you'd like to boot the computer. Select "Safe Mode."
-
9
Launch the anti-virus application once the Safe Mode version of Windows has loaded.
-
10
Perform a full system scan. Once the scan is complete, select "Remove All" and the System32.EXE file will be removed.
