How to Determine How Many Wedding Invitations to Order
Deciding who to invite to your wedding can be a thankless task. When you start considering family, friends, colleagues, friends of parents and others, what started as an intimate wedding for 100 can suddenly grow to a mammoth affair for 300. As your guest list nears its final stage, you'll have a better idea of how many people you are expecting and how many invitations to order.
Instructions

1
Group together all of the couples on your list. You will only need one invitation per couple.
-
2
Group together all of the families on your list. Each family will only require one invitation. If there are children over the age of 18 living with their parents, they should either be listed by name on the envelope or receive a separate invitation.
-
-
3
Add up the number of single guests, the number of couples and the number of families. The sum of these gives you a base number of invitations to start with.
-
4
Write down the guests you are considering inviting but have not decided on. If you decide to invite them later you will need extra invitations.
-
5
Add the number of invitations you will need in Step 4 to the number you arrived at in Step 3.
-
6
Add 10-15 additional invitations to your total. These will come in handy as a memento, act as a back-up for any invitations that get damaged, and can be used for anyone who was accidentally left of the initial guest list.
