Things You'll Need:
- Flea comb
- Flea shampoo
- Flea spray or powder
-
Step 1
Bathe weekly. My cats don't like baths, so I just bathe my dog in a natural flea shampoo like Ark Natural's Neem once a week. I also like EarthBath shampoos that don't remove flea spot control.
-
Step 2
Use Regular Preventative Treatment. I use Natural Defense flea collars and spray on my cats and spot treatment and spray on my dog. If the spot treatment runs out (usually after 2 weeks or so) I've found the spray alone combined with weekly baths is enough.
-
Step 3
Give Garlic Treats at least three times a week. Garlic and brewer's yeast treats help keep the fleas away. They hate the taste.
-
Step 4
Keep A Close Eye. If your pet is scratching and you suspect there's a flea, use a flea comb. Give them a bath as soon as possible to flush the flea down the drain, and bring some cooling relief to any bites.
-
Step 5
Diet Matters. I have seen an incredible difference with flea prevention between the animals I have kept on organic diets compared to the many pets in the past who ate non-organic food and tap water. I firmly believe that an organic diet and filtered water has supported my flea-free pets.
-
Step 6
If you've had a flea invasion in your home, try Only Natural's All-In-One Flea Remedy. It's an all natural powder that shreds fleas to pieces. The powder can be used on floors, carpets, furniture, pet beds and even the pets themselves. I used it years ago for a bad flea invasion I had when I first moved to California and after trying lots of other products, this one actually did the job.
