Make potty training a fun and exciting adventure. Make the potty an exciting place to hang out for your child. Have some fun books on going potty at hand for your two year old to look at.

  2. Step 2

Have your child help choose the potty chair of their choice. Either a seat and stool for the big toilet or their very own potty chair. This engages them in the concept and they will be more likely to be successful.

  3. Step 3

Begin by talking with child about using the potty and how fun and exciting it is!!

  4. Step 4
    Drink Drink Drink

To start make sure your child is drinking plenty of fluids and start by putting them on the toilet every 15-30 minutes until your child becomes more successful and begins to understand the idea more. As this gets better and better you can decrease the time.

  5. Step 5

Remind child to tell you when they have to go potty so that they can become aware of when they have to go and get used to using the toilet.

  6. Step 6
    Great Job!!

Give lots of praise when they are successful and be encouraging and supportive when they don't make it but always remain positive

  7. Step 7

Remember that is takes time and that every child is different and that with practice and help they will catch on and will become successfully potty trained.
