Best, Quick and Easy Spaghetti Bolognese Dinner

Looking for a quick and easy recipe for dinner tonight? Wishing for some comfort food? Looking for a budget-friendly restaurant-quality meal you can make at home? Spaghetti Bolognese (also known as Spaghetti with meat sauce) is a classic Italian dinner. Italians often spend hours simmering the perfect Bolognese sauce for dinner. Here is a quick and easy recipe in four steps that will get you your own delicious Spaghetti Bolognese Family dinner at home.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Large Pot
  • Large Pan
  • Cutting Board
  • Chopping Knife
  • Spoon
  • 2 Cups Rotini Pasta
  • 1 Pound Ground Beef
  • 1 Medium Onion
  • 3 Cloves Garlic
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Parsley
  • Oregano
  • 1 1/2 Cups Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 Jar of Your Favorite Commercial Sauce (recommended: Newman's Own Sockarooni)
  1. Step 1

Cook pasta. Bring 8 cups of water to a boil in a large pot over high heat. When water comes to a boil add several tablespoons of salt and 2 cups of Rotini pasta. Cook according to package instructions (typically 9-11 minutes) or until pasta reaches desired tenderness. Place colander in sink and pour water and pasta into colander to drain pasta.

  2. Step 2

Sauté onion and garlic. Add two tablespoons of olive oil to pan over medium heat. Peel and chop 1 medium onion and 3 cloves of garlic and place in pan with heated olive oil. Sauté until onion and garlic soften. Stir frequently to ensure that onion and garlic do not burn.

  3. Step 3

Cook ground beef. Add ground beef to the pan with sauteed onion and garlic. Add salt, pepper, and oregano to beef and stir to break up the beef. Continue stirring and breaking up the ground beef until browned.

  4. Step 4

Assemble Spaghetti Bolognese. Add commercial sauce to the pan with onion, garlic, and ground beef to create your meat sauce. Stir until all ingredients are incorporated and meat sauce begins to bubble slightly. Add salt and pepper. Add cooked pasta and 1 cup of parmesan cheese to the pan with onion, garlic, beef, and sauce. Stir well. Top Spaghetti Bolognese with parmesan cheese and parsley.

Tips & Warnings
  • To achieve a truly delicious Spaghetti Bolognese meat sauce, it is very important to cook the onion and garlic before adding the ground beef and sauce. This is the only way to get that "simmered all day" flavor quickly and easily.
  • If you do not have parmesan cheese, you can also experiment with adding cottage cheese or ricotta to your quick and easy delicious Spaghetti Bolognese. The goal is to achieve a slightly creamy texture to your Spaghetti Bolognese.
  • You can substitute any ground meat for the ground beef (try chicken or turkey).
  • Use caution when handling raw meat to avoid cross contamination as you prepare the best ever quick and easy Spaghetti Bolognese dinner.
