Well-being is about harmony between our overall happiness, physical condition, mental state, confidence, and outlook on life.

To improve our well-being, we must be healthy on the inside and out. Here are some ways to stay healthy naturally - the resources are specific to Scottsdale, Arizona.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Start dancing! Ballroom dancing is not only great exercise, but it also has many benefits including: increased self-confidence, improved coordination, and reduced stress & anxiety.

  2. Step 2

Play tennis! This is a sport that really challenges you both physically and mentally. Why mentally? Where team sports allow you the support of your teammates, tennis puts you out there - just you vs. your opponent. Of course, if you're not comfortable playing alone though, you can always do doubles.

  3. Step 3

Eat better! While it is not always possible to have the perfect diet, start by trying to eat more natural products. Cut down on the fast food, cut out processed foods and preservatives. Look at ways in which you can modify your diet to benefit your health. High cholesterol? Try going vegetarian. High blood pressure? Cut out the sodium. The list is endless!

  4. Step 4

Stay hydrated! Water is essential for the body. The recommended amount of water is 1 1/2 times your body weight. Soda, sweating, and tons of other things will dehydrate you, so be sure to drink additional water to compensate. Most especially in the summer.

  5. Step 5

Get a regular massage! If you work at a desk all day, you know about the tension headaches that are a result of the knots in your your neck, shoulders and back. Instead of always resorting to that bottle of aspirin, try a good massage therapist instead. Even once a month can give you relief.

  6. Step 6

Try chiropractic care! It's not just a quick fix for pain after car accidents or injuries. Gravity, accidents, sports, bad posture and other things in life cause your spine to be out of alignment, which puts pressure on the nerves that send signals back and forth between the brain and the rest of your body. If those signals are being distorted, that means parts of your body may not be working as well as they should, causing anything from allergies to poor digestion to headaches. Chiropractic care can help get your spine in alignment so that those nerves can function properly, resulting in your body being able to function like it should.
