Root beer floats are a refreshing and delicious beverage. Try making a frosty root beer float at home following this recipe, but be sure to buy plenty of ingredients because everyone will want a root beer float once they see yours.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • frosty mug
  • root beer
  • vanilla ice cream
  • spoon
  • straw
  1. Step 1

Chill a glass beer mug in the freezer until it is cold and frosty.

  2. Step 2

Scoop several spoonfuls of vanilla ice cream into the frosty, glass mug.

  3. Step 3

Slowly pour root beer, or diet root beer, over the ice cream in the mug. The ice cream will cause the root beer to become very frothy, so it is important to pour slowly.

  4. Step 4

Let the froth settle for a few minutes and then add more root beer to the frosty mug. Repeat this step a few times until you have a nice full mug of cool, refreshing root beer float.

  5. Step 5

Serve the root beer float with a long-handled spoon and a straw.

  6. Step 6

Add a personal touch to the basic root beer float recipe by adding a dollop of whipped cream with a cherry and sprinkles, or try using cream soda, or chocolate chip ice cream, instead of the traditional root beer and vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!
