Step 1
Document certification and training.
On your CNA resume, you will need to document when and where you were certified. Also be sure to note any other certifications that enhance your CNA; any specialized training, courses pertaining to nursing special populations, first aid, food handler's, etc. -
Step 2
List relevant work experience.
If you have worked in the health care field before, be sure and list it on your CNA resume. If you haven't had an official CNA job yet, list any experience you have in the health care capacity; volunteer work and internships, for example. -
Step 3
Note goals for furthering your education and career in the health care sector.
Do you currently have your CNA but have bigger goals of becoming a Registered Nurse? LIsting this information on your resume wont hurt your chances of getting CNA jobs; employers like employees with aspirations, and it's good to show on your resume that you have long term interest within the career. -
Step 4
List relevant references from past CNA jobs.
If you have any experience in health care, list references from those jobs on your CNA application and resume. Listing references of people who can testify for your professionalism as a CNA can help you get the job.
