1
Remove the husks and silks from the corn and cut each piece into thirds with a sharp kitchen knife. Little hands have an easier time handling smaller pieces of corn, plus, reduced sized portions can help to eliminate waste.
-
2
Bring a large pot of water to a boil and place the corn into the pot.
-
-
3
Cook the corn in the boiling water for seven to 10 minutes or until a desired state of tenderness.
-
4
Allow the corn to cool for five to 10 minutes before serving; kids may want to dive right into the corn, and they will likely burn themselves if the corn is not cooled properly.
-
5
Stick corn holders into each side of the corn on the cob; corn holders are not only fun for kids but they help them to hold and rotate the corn.
-
6
Smother a pat of butter on the corn for your kids to avoid them overusing butter by spreading it by themselves.
-
7
Sprinkle salt lightly on the corn; the butter will allow the salt to stick to the corn on the cob.
-
8
Serve the corn on the cob along with plenty of napkins to your kids. Expect a bit of a mess as they eat the corn.
