Things You'll Need:
- Moonflower seeds
- Water
- Sun
- Trellis
- Poor to high quality soil
-
Step 1
Here are the seeds (This photo is not by me, I take no credit for this.)Planting Moonflowers.
Moonflowers are not easily transplanted, and should stay in only one or two places in it's life. Put a trellis near the plant so the vines can grow up it. Moonflowers can get up to 18 feet tall, you can trim the vines to make it shorter, but you must trim them before it blooms. -
Step 2
Water it! (This photo is not by me, I take no credit for this.)Caring for moonflowers.
Moonflowers should be watered only once a day. They need sun in the afternoons to make bigger blooms. At least 2 or 3 hours of sun in the afternoon should do it. -
Step 3
Blooms.
Moonflowers have 4 inch across blooms. The blooms will fall off, but will keep growing more for a lifetime flower. I hope you enjoy growing your moonflower!

on 7/19/2009 I didn't know they would climb like a vine. I have moonflowers all over out here and sometimes they get up to 6' tall as a big bush. Very nice! And they seed like crazy and those seeds can be used to trade for other seeds/flowers/plants to further your garden. Love em'! I'm going to set up some trellises and give that a shot.
