Some of you are wondering what Search Engine Optimization and using key word search is so I'd figure I'd write and article on an how to for Key word searches.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • computer
  • some typing needed
  • internet
  1. Step 1

I was reading online the other day about SEO. SEO is Search Engine Optimization. The defination of SEO is as followed :
"is the process of improving the volume or quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via "natural" ("organic" or "algorithmic") search results"(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Search_engine_optimization)

  2. Step 2

I bet you are asking why do I need to know this information. You need to know this information because search engines in google are how eHow creates and generates ads through google ads. This type of promotion allows for eHow and other sites to use key words in there articles to move there articles to the front.

  3. Step 3

Google and Yahoo and others have what is called key word searches and with these key words searches it will pull up ads and websites on these search engine results. The clearer your information and the more precise your key words are the more likely you are to get put up at the top of the Search Engine. Knowing how to utilize google and yahoo is very important. Advertisers pay google and yahoo to place there ads before your searches and on your websites which I'm sure you have seen here on eHow. Its great information to know how SEO is used so that when you go to write your article you'll know what key words to use.

  4. Step 4

Key words: Searches are done according to relevance of key word subjects and relevance. In order to provide optimized viewing you need to make sure that words are put in your articles that viewers will see when they put in the word or subject they are looking for. Generalization of words is a good way to start, but just for example here is a good way to think about it. When you go to search for a job and you put in Science. Science is a gernalized subject that breaks down into gazillians of subject such as biology, chemistry, computer science. Computer science has doezens of subsidaries in its list. It just helps to know what to look for and what to use in your key word search. The more detailed information that you give in the key word the less work you ultimately have to do in the end.

  5. Step 5

Information on the internet is hard to sift through. Especially you have a slow connection or a dull connection. Also most people don't want to spend time going through page after page of the search engine pages but I reccomend that you do that because the first few pages are where people pay for the first page search results. This means that you can pay say google or another site to put your website upfront. Just remember that it is for a price. Another tip is that you want to be careful how long you stay online with your sign on information. Meaning that if you stay on the internet searching you might want to do it under a guest then go back in and look at your websites. This way no one will find out it was you looking for them. It keeps the ads down from your email and from your spam section as well.

Tips & Warnings
  • use detailed key word search to optimize your results.
  • Wikipedia is a good place for wording and word usage. Its quick and easy and doesn't take long to read.
  • This information may not be totally professional information. This is just my experience on the subject. Thanks for reading.
