Sunscreen protects you from damaging sun rays that can cause skin damage, premature aging and skin cancer. But even if you are usually good about applying sunscreen before going out, you probably forget to reapply it. Sunscreen should be reapplied every two hours or more if you are swimming or sweating heavily. Reapplying sunscreen is especially important if you are going to the beach or swimming it the pool as water tends to amplify the suns rays. Here are some ideas on how to remember to reapply sunscreen.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Take a Digital Watch.
Set your watch to sound an alarm every two hours. If you are swimming, then set it for every hour just to be safe. If you don't have a digital watch, you can pick one up very cheaply. If you buy a cheap one, you won't have to worry if it gets sand or water in it.

  2. Step 2

    Set Your Cell Phone Alarm.
Almost everyone has a cell phone these days, and chances are you'll take it to the beach with you too. Most cell phones have alarms that can be set. If you think yours doesn't, take a look at it, you may find a feature you didn't even know was there.

  3. Step 3

    Use a Kitchen Timer.
This works really well at home, but can also be used at the beach too. Again the advantage of a kitchen timer is that they are really cheap to buy and you don't have to worry if it gets damaged by water or sand.

  4. Step 4

    Buy a UV Monitoring Device.
There are several commercial products available that will monitor the amount of UV rays you are absorbing. These range from bracelets such as the UVSunSense wristband to stickers you place on the skin.
If you are worried about these devices leaving a tan line, then simply place them on something that will be exposed to the sun, such as your beach bag or sunscreen bottle.
