The spleen is an important part of the lymphatic system. This is the system in the body responsible for balancing fluids and fighting infections. The spleen kills old, damaged cells and monitors and controls how much blood is in your body. To keep a strong, healthy spleen and lymphatic system, fresh water is needed, and massage and stretching can also help to squeeze and clear the system, assisting in lymphatic drainage and a healthy spleen.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Lemons
  • Lemon essential oil
  1. Step 1

Drink 8 to 12 glasses of water a day with a slice of a lemon wedge in each glass. The water cleanses the spleen and blood, and the lemon assists in clearing the lymphatic system as well as the liver.

  2. Step 2

Get a massage. Massages are extremely helpful in cleansing the lymphatic system and supporting lymphatic drainage. Add a few drops of lemon essential oil to the base oil used for performing the massage to further help cleanse the spleen.

  3. Step 3

Stretch daily. Stretching is very good at clearing the lymphatic system and supporting lymphatic drainage. Yoga, in particular, focuses on poses to cleanse and recharge the internal organs.

  4. Step 4

Take goldenseal as a tea, in capsule form or as a tincture to support the lymphatic system and encourage lymphatic cleansing. Consult with your doctor before taking any herbs or supplements.

  5. Step 5

Eat raw fruits and vegetables, and drink fruit or vegetable juice on an empty stomach. The acids and enzymes present in these foods are extremely cleansing for the entire lymphatic system.
