Step 1
Before loading your dishwasher, rinse food off of dishes. Foods such was greens, can leave a foul smell in your dishwasher. Even though the dishwasher cleans the dishes, food can still get stuck in between the door where you can not see without inspecting.
-
Step 2
Once the dishwasher is dish free, use a small scrub brush with hot water and dishwashing liquid to clean around and under the black rubber seals and the hinges. Food and debris is probably under there which is causing a foul odor.
-
Step 3
Next, use a wet dish rag or a soft sponge to wipe down the inside of the dishwasher including the racks, top, bottom and doors of the dishwasher. You can use vinegar and lemon juice mixture instead of soap and water. This will help freshen up your dishwasher.
-
Step 4
Inspect the drain area for food debris or even chipped glass that may be stuck in the drain.
-
Step 5
Last, run the dishwasher dish free on the hottest water setting using a dishwasher cleaner. Follow directions on the label.

on 7/17/2009 Valuable info. I wouldn't feel confident that the dishes were really clean coming from a smelling dishwasher. 5*
