How to Make a Nylon Baby Headband

A good nylon baby headband must be made of soft material that won't leave a mark on the baby's head. It could include fabric from old clothes the baby has outgrown and little accessories like flower clips and bows. The homemade headband can't have anything on it small enough that the baby could swallow it if it comes off.

Things You'll Need

• Nylon fabric
• Scissors
• Sewing machine or iron-on no-sew tape
• Iron

Instructions

1. Cut the fabric in a strip long enough to fit around the baby's head. Cut the fabric to a width fit for the baby. It should be about 1-inch wide.

2. Sew the ends of the fabric on a sewing machine, or use iron-on no-sew tape to bind the edges.

3. Gently pull the headband and tape or sew it again if it easily comes apart. If the band is sound, use a few stitches or hot glue to attach any accessories.

• Fun tip: Use old clothes your baby has outgrown as your fabric--it's a great way to get more mileage out of those cute outfits that don't fit anymore!
