- club soda
- water
- salt
- cream of tartar
- old sock
- toothpaste
- cloth

Step 1
spotless dinnerwareFor stainless steel, to remove streaks on the silverware you can use club soda. Put club soda in a glass, take each piece and dip into the club soda and then rub with a cloth.

how to make pots shineCopper can be polished to a nice shine by rubbing each piece with equal parts of salt and fresh lemon juice. Us a cloth to rub.

aluminum dinnerwareUse equal amounts of water and cream of tartar for your aluminum silverware, and it will give them a nice shine.

polished goldFor your silver and (or) gold utensils, put an old sock on one of your hands and squeeze a little toothpaste on your fingertips, then stroke each piece up and down with toothpaste. Rinse each piece well, then use a dry cloth to buff utensils to a nice shine.

on 11/6/2009 All of these tips are really helpful but especially the ones for aluminum (which I had completely given up on) and silver (which is always getting tarnished). Toothpaste does a very good job on gold-plated silver. 5*
