Eating at a buffet restaurant offers up an exciting amount of different foods to choose from but sometimes even then it can still be hard to decide what you want to eat. Using foods on the buffet to create your own recipe can be satisfyingly fun.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Warm Yeast Roll
  • Crab Cake
  • Raw Spinach from the Salad Bar
  • Cocktail Sauce
  • Tartar Sauce
  1. Step 1

Cut the yeast roll in half. Using a warm roll will be a little harder to cut neatly but the soft, warm flavor is worth the cost of a sandwich that may not be the prettiest in presentation.

  2. Step 2

Add the spinach leaves all around the inside and outside of the roll in neat layers using as much as you like. A thick bed of spinach gives the crab cake a nice, secure holding place.

  3. Step 3

Place the crab cake on top of the raw spinach layers. This is a good time to add salt or pepper or any other seasonings you like with seafood.

  4. Step 4

Mix together three parts of cocktail sauce with one part tartar sauce mixing until you get a nice soft pinkish, salmon color and place this on top of the crab cake spreading it to the edge of the cake and put the top of the roll on, press down a little to keep the sandwich together and enjoy.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use the provided paper ramekins to mix the cocktail and tartar sauce. These are usually found near the condiments.
  • Replace the spinach with lettuce if that is more to your taste.
  • Add a cold crab salad as a side to the sandwich for a more complete dish.
