This is brief instructions on how to start a daycare in the comfort of your own home.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A nice clean home and lots of patience
  1. Step 1

Start a Daycare in the comfort of your own home......I was a daycare owner for over 7 years and loved every bit of it. I made VERY good money from home working this particular job.
There are several things that you must know in order to succeed in this business. It certainly isn't anything that you jump right into.
First of all make sure you can tolerate children. Patience is very important in this matter. If your temper is at all sensitive this may not be the thing for you.

  2. Step 2

Then decide what ages you would be interested in keeping. I chose to watch the smaller ones because I made more money that way, but then again, the smaller ones are much more challenging.
If you are interested in watching after school children, most moms want you to pick them up from school. So you need to make sure you have the right vehicle for the job.

  3. Step 3

After you have decided on what age you will be watching then decide a price for each head. It all depends on the area that you're in. Where I'm from people pay up to $100 a week for one child and then for the sibling I would usually charge $10 a day for that one. So that would make you earning a WHOPPING $150.00 a week on that particular family. And then so on. I learned that BY law a childcare provider, unless they are certified can not watch more that 6 children at a time.
For these two particular children I was able to take care of them and by groceries for them and still come out well ahead of the game. I DID NOT provide diaper or baby wipes for the children, but then there are certain things that one must keep ion their home in order to continue with this line of work.
I REALLY want you to try this if it something you are interested in because it is a GREAT money maker and honest living.

Tips & Warnings
  • It is important to keep a clean home and conduct your self in a business minded way. Being professional is very important.
  • Always treat the kids as you would want your children to be treated. I learned a great deal about discipline while providing childcare for other individuals. Timeout is a great method to try early in the game.
  • GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY DAYCARING!!
