How to properly shoot a soccer ball will give you step by step instructions on properly kicking a soccer ball. Shooting a soccer ball can be tricky but with repetitive practice and these tips you will be shooting the ball effectively every time.

Things You'll Need:

  • Soccer Ball
  1. Step 1

    If shooting the ball to shoot at the goal, you want to make sure your body is lined up with the ball and you are striking it head on. Plant your non-kicking foot right beside the ball and with your laces down on your kicking foot shoot the ball in the middle.

  2. Step 2

    If you want to shoot the ball so to add a bend to it's path, strike the ball with the inside of your foot about 3/4 of the way up the inner part of your shoe. Make sure you follow through with your leg and this will give the ball and nice little spin and with enough power will bend the ball.

  3. Step 3

    If you want to strike the ball properly to pass it, then use the middle part of the inside of your foot. Plant your non-kicking foot next to the ball and follow through with your leg to gain the most power.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure to follow through with your leg no matter how you shoot a ball.
  • Power doesn't always come from how hard your kick it but more so on your kicking form.
  • Improper kicking and shooting form can severely hamper the power and accuracy of the ball.
