How to make wild rice pilaf

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 cans chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup wild rice
  • 1 cup long grain rice
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon rosemary
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon each of salt and pepper
  • 2 1/2 cups broccoli or celery
  1. Step 1

You will need a large saucepan you will need to bring the broth to a boil. You will then add the wild rice and cover and cook for 30 minutes. You will then stir in the long grain rice and cook for 20 minutes or until all the water is absorbed. Then place to the side.

  2. Step 2

In a large skillet you will need to sauté the onion that you chopped, carrot that you cut into thin slices, a glove of garlic that you peeled and minced, and the butter. Cook until all the vegetables are tender. Then you will stir in the rice and salt and pepper. You will then need to cut the broccoli into florets and then add to the rice mixture. Ir you do not have broccoli or can not eat it you can add celery instead.

  3. Step 3

Then place in a greased baking dish and cover. Place in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes or until the broccoli is tender. If you use broccoli or celery cook the save way. Then fluff with your fork after removing from the oven. Now it is time to serve.
