How to Build a Hidden Cat Litter Box

Determine a good location. Create a side entrance so the litter box will be hidden more effectively. A cabinet with doors is recommended for cleaning purposes. Some recommendations include: the area under a sink or inside a floor cabinet.

Try to find a plastic container that can fit on the bottom of the opening. This will be the litter box.

Use a saw and cut an opening on the side of the cabinet. The opening should be about eight to ten inches. The top of the opening should be about 12 to 14 inches from the ground. This is where the cat can enter and leave.

Put the container/litter box in the opening. If the container is too tall where the cat enters, you may have to trim it down so the lip is no taller than four inches. Hooks can also be put within the cabinet so that you can hang the scooper.

Tips & Warnings
A taller container would be better in order to keep the dirt or litter inside the container.
Adding a mat will help keep the area clean.
Make sure the environment or location is safe so your cat can have easy access.
If the pipe is too low and your cat can touch it, you may need to insulate it.
