How to Make a Skateboard Ramp
My son makes these skateboard ramps all the time. He even makes them for the neighborhood kids so I guess he does a good job.
Here is what he told me about how to make a homemade skateboard ramp.
(you can also use this for bmx bikes too)

1
Gather all your materials. My son collects odds and ends that he finds or that neighbors throw away. He took a wood pallet apart once and used pieces from that.
-
2
Decide how high you want your skateboard ramp to be. Then cut out wood for your frame. Use pressure treated wood if you will be leaving it outside so it does not rot.
-
-
3
Use pressure treated screws to put it together.
-
4
have the store cut your plywood to size if it will be smaller than the piece you bought. Leave this to the professional.
-
5
screw the plywood down on your frame

My son attaches a small piece of sheet metal to the bottom end of the ramp so that there is a smooth transition from the ground to the ramp.
Sometimes he finds old road signs and uses those. Whatever you have.

Tips & Warnings
Be careful with power tools - wear safety glasses and ask an adult for help
use the right kind of wood and screws if you are leaving it outside
Don't make it too high if it's your first ramp
Don't be afraid to ask for help
Be careful skating - my son has ended up in the hospital twice from skateboard injuries and he is only 15 years old.
