1. To check your credit report go to the following website the Annual Credit Report website listed below this article. This is the official site to help consumers to obtain their free credit report. You are entitled to receive one free credit report every 12 months from each of the nationwide consumer credit reporting companies and this site will let you access all of them.

2. If you do not want to use that site you can obtain free copy their credit report every year from each of the three major credit bureaus which are Equifax, Experian and TransUnion.

3. If you have any questions about your legal rights, please consult the Fair Credit Reporting Act (ftc.gov/os/statutes/fcra.htm).
