Fruit smoothies are healthy fruit and vegetable blends that are simple to make in a food processor or blender. High in vitamins, nutrients and immune system supporting antioxidants, fruit smoothies can be prepared in a variety of ways. The use of organic fruit and vegetables in fruit smoothies is a great idea, as USDA certified organic produce is grown without the use of harmful pesticides. Things You'll Need

  • Blender or food processor
  • Ice
  • Organic fruits such as blueberries, bananas, strawberries and apples
  • Knife
  • Cutting board
  • Organic peanut butter, milk or cream
  • 2 large glasses

Instructions

      Wash all fruits in cold running water for at least 30 seconds to remove any dirt. Set aside on paper towels after they are clean.

      Put a full glass of ice cubes into your blender.

      Cut up fruits such as apples, pears, bananas or mangoes into pieces about 1 inch square until you have about 1 cup. Add these pieces to the blender.

      Add 1 tablespoon of organic peanut butter or 1/4 cup of organic milk or cream to your blender.

      Add some smaller fruits and berries like blueberries, strawberries or cherries to the blender. Put the top on the blender, hold it down and hit the "Pulse" button.

      Pulse your organic fruit mix five to 10 times until the mix has become a thick drink without chunks. Pour your new organic smoothie into two large glasses, and enjoy.

Tips & Warnings

  • Small amounts of organic vegetables such as spinach, kale, collard greens or broccoli can increase the health benefits of your smoothie without making it taste bad.

  • Unplug your blender before putting any items inside it. Accidentally turning on your blender while you are adding items to your mix can result in serious injury.
