Ice tea is probably the most delicious, heavenly drink on Earth - and with an ice tea maker, it's so easy to make that you have no excuse for not enjoying it every day of the year! If you have an ice tea maker or you're currently in the market for one, then you probably already know that with some water, a few tea bags, and some ice, you can have fresh-brewed ice tea in as little as 15 minutes. Sound good? Here is how to make ice tea with an ice tea maker:

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Ice tea maker with pitcher
  • 10-20 black tea bags
  • Sugar
  • Lemon juice
  • Water
  • Ice cubes
  • Large wooden spoon
  1. Step 1

Set Up Your Ice Tea Maker

Find a spot on your kitchen counter that will comfortably fit both the appliance and the pitcher. Set up your ice tea maker by plugging it in and filling the pitcher with water to the first line, which should say "Water." Pour the water into the top of the ice tea maker by pulling the plastic door on the top of the machine open. Then, fill the pitcher up again, this time with ice, to the line on the pitcher that says "Ice."

  2. Step 2

    Prepare the Machine to Brew

After filling the pitcher with ice, line it up so that the opening of the pitcher is directly underneath the spout for the tea maker; to make ice tea, you will need to use the pitcher top with the cut-out for allowing the brewed tea to drip in. If it is not aligned properly, the ice tea will pour all over your counter, so take care to set it up properly.

  3. Step 3

    Add Your Tea Bags

The larger opening on the top of the brewer is the spot for your tea bags. Add 10 tea bags for regular ice tea, or add up to 20 for stronger tea. Try to spread the tea bags out evenly so that they all properly seep. Then, hit the button on the bottom of the machine to start the brewing process.

  4. Step 4

Stir In Sugar and Lemon Juice

After about 10 to 15 minutes, your pitcher of tea should be done brewing and ready to use. You can add your sugar in now, and if you like lemon-flavored tea, include your lemon juice as well. Stir thoroughly to dissolve the sugar so that it doesn't collect at the bottom of the pitcher. When finished, your ice tea is ready to be served.
