There are many ways that you can make a piggy bank for kids. It's also fun to have them help you make it.

Here is a real simple way to make a piggy bank for a kid. You can decorate it together and treasure it for many years

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Grab an old milk carton. Make sure that you wash it thoroughly and leave it to dry. Keep the cap!

  2. Step 2

Place your milk carton upright and place a small incision in the back to place your money.

  3. Step 3

Decide what kind of a piggy bank that you are going to make. Is it going to be a traditional "pig" piggy bank? Or you might want to make it a dog or cat bank instead. Whatever your child's favorite type of character would be the best idea. For this piggy bank we will make it into a puppy!

  4. Step 4

You can either paint your milk carton or you can glue pieces of felt around the outside to give it more of a "fur feel". For this piggy bank we will need to grab a paintbrush and some tempura paint. Paint your bank a nice golden brown. Let your paint dry.

  5. Step 5

Cut out felt ears and glue them with craft glue to your doggy bank. Leave this dry.

  6. Step 6

Add googly eyes to your doggy bank, which you can purchase at any craft store. For the nose you can also purchase little pom-poms.

  7. Step 7

Once you've added all of your doggy features and they've dried, you can then put your money in!
