Things You'll Need:
- paper & pencil
- rule
- marker
-
Step 1
Draw a schematic picture of the inside of the truck so that you have an idea of where and how to pack all your belongings. Use a rule, paper and a pencil to draw the boxes on the diagram. Draw the biggest and heaviest item first. draw a box and label each item large appliances washing machine, refrigerator, dryer. and mattresses along the wall. Placing the mattresses against the walls help to absorb and protect the furniture. By packing the heaviest items as close to the front of the truck as possible is so that the weight at the back does not cause the truck to drag.
-
Step 2
Make a list room by room of your largest box that need to be move next draw the boxes on your diagram. Make notes of items to be loaded by room number the box on the diagram and on the list group similar sized boxes together and load on to the truck. Place light boxes on top of heavy firm boxes and appliances even out the weight by rotating from one side to the other. Place fragile items or awkward shaped items on last.
-
Step 3
Pack tightly but not cramp against one another. This will help you items from falling and shifting while in transporting to your new location. It is important not to jam everything together to make it fit. Fill in the spaces with blankets.
