Things You'll Need:
- Champagne bottle
- Large knife
-
Step 1
First take the foil wrapper off to expose the cork and the wire that holds it in. Do not take the wire loose or off.
-
Step 2
The most important step is to shake up the champagne bottle. This creates pressure inside the bottle so the cork will shoot out. Shake well!
-
Step 3
Hold the bottle in your non-dominate hand. If you are right handed this will be your left hand. Grip the bottom half, fat part, of the bottle.
-
Step 4
Point the cork away from anything you don't want to get hit by a flying cork.
-
Step 5
Hold the knife in your dominate hand. If you are right handed this is your right hand.
-
Step 6
Touch the knife blade to the bottle just above where your hand is holding it. Slide the knife blade up the bottle in a quick motion in order to cut the wire and allow the cork to shoot off. The idea here is to simply cut the wire that is holding the cork in and allow the pressure inside the bottle to shoot the cork out!
