Hand Shaken Margarita

Margaritas are a classic party drink. They most commonly made in a blender, but blenders are loud during parties and don't look very classy. Why not try making margaritas in a shaker instead? A hand crafted and shaken margarita will be the drink of choice at your next get together.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 Shot of Gold Tequila
  • 1 Shot Triple Sec
  • 1 Ounce of Sweet and Sour
  • 1 Tbsp Lime Juice
  • Lots of ice
  1. Step 1

Start with a large metal shaker with a tight fitting top and strainer. Fill it about half way with ice.

  2. Step 2

Add one shot of gold tequila, one shot of triple sec, and one oz of sweet and sour into the shaker. Be sure you have enough ice in the shaker to chill the mix, but not so much that it can't be shaken.

  3. Step 3

Place the top on the shaker and give it a shake. To perform the correct shaking motion, keep your right hand around the shaker as if holding a drinking glass (reverse if left handed), and the left hand on the top of the shaker, firmly holding the top to the shaker. Bring the shaker up towards your left shoulder, and back down towards your right hip. Repeat this swinging motion for 30-45 seconds.

  4. Step 4

Open the shaker and and drizzle a tablespoon of lime juice over the ice in the shaker. Place the strainer on the shaker, and pour the drink into a glass. To serve the drink on the rocks, just leave the strainer off and pour everything including the ice into the glass.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep everything you need laid out neatly on your bar. It will make you look more organized and improve the show for everyone.
  • Drink responsibly.
