Things You'll Need:
- sunscreen
- inflatable toys
- swimming noodles
- life jackets
- goggles
- nose plugs
- flippers
- food and drinks
- beach towels
-
Step 1
Remember - safety first! Check with the parents of the children as to their swimming ability. The kids who haven't learned to swim should wear a life jacket. The use of a swimming noodle or an inflatable tube is okay with a responsible adult along side of the non-swimmer.
-
Step 2
Remind the parents to send along a beach towel. You may want to invite the parents of the children to stay and play with the kids, as you can use the extra help.
Apply water repellent sunscreen on the kids. -
Step 3
Good pool party eats for kids are hot dogs, chips, cheeses, assorted fruits, cookies and punch. If you want to make things even more simple, order a sheet pizza.
-
Step 4
Have handy, inflatable toys, goggles, nose plugs, flippers and swimming noodles. Bring your television outside - AWAY from the pool and wet children. Show water-themed DVD's, such as The Little Mermaid.
-
Step 5
Play Marco Polo, hold a swimming noodle race or dive for treasures (pocket change) in shallow water, wearing goggles.
Encourage the non-swimmers at your pool party to put their faces under the water and blow bubbles. -
Step 6
Have fun and keep a close eye on the kid's skin; you don't want to send home sun-burned children!
