How to Make a Natural Shampoo
If you are not happy with the ingredients in your current shampoo, you can make your own. It is surprisingly simple and the feeling of gratification you will get knowing you made your own shampoo will be unbelievable. Here is what you need to do: Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- castile soap
- rosemary
- sage
- lavender
- plastic bottle
- MSM (organic sulphur)optional

Boil 2 cups of water. Distilled water is best.

Pour herbs into the water. You can use the herbs mentioned above or make your own mixture depending on the scent , texture and results you prefer. For example, lavender can help with an itchy or flaky scalp. Rosemary can help with limp hair. And geranium oil can help with dry hair. Find the herbal mixture that is right for you.

Mix in 2000 mg MSM (organic sulphur), if desired. Although most do not add this to their natural, herbal shampoo mixture, some believe it aids the skin on the scalp in absorbing nutrients.

After MSM melts, strain the mixture into a bowl. Use a fine strainer to keep herbs out of the water.

Stir in 4-5 oz. castile soap. The water mixture should still be warm.

Pour shampoo into a plastic bottle or old shampoo bottle and shake well.
