To create the Mardi Gras party invitations, make a mask stencil out of cardboard to generate masks made from the construction paper.

  2. Step 2

For Mardi Gras decorations, stick with the colors of gold, purple, and green. Beads, balloons, streamers, and glow sticks all add to the Mardi Gras theme. Chocolate or gum look a like gold coin candy could also be used for Mardi Gras decorations for Mardi Gras parties.

  3. Step 3

The food for a Mardi Gras party should consist of what real Mardi Gras parties serve. A Mardi Gras theme event features little sausages, Cajun chicken, a King Cake (www.kingcake.com), shrimp with cocktail sauce, red beans with rice, Jambalaya, sweet tea, and even canned oysters. Not everything in this list has to be served; however, a King Cake is a must for any party. The King Cake is part of the whole Mardi Gras theme, it’s just like part of the Mardi Gras decorations. The King Cake is decorated in gold, green, and purple with stars and has a plastic baby that is inside. All real Mardi Gras parties feature this important staple to the event.

  4. Step 4

The Drinks are also important to the Mardi Gras theme for any Mardi Gras party. Use plastic hurricane cups for added Mardi Gras decorations. Serve sweet tea, red fruit punch, and of course the staple drink to all Mardi Gras parties, the Hurricane. This drink is the official drink for any Mardi Gras party. It can be made with or without alcohol.

  5. Step 5

Music is another important factor to any Mardi Gras theme. For Mardi Gras parties, blues, jazz, and even Mardi Gras music (on cd – Google it) should be included to enhance the event.
