How to Wear a Bed Sheet

Normally meant to dress up your bed, bed sheets can also be repurposed as clothing. With little or no sewing skills, you can wear your bed sheet as a toga for a toga party or make an elegant Greek-style dress. Ornate silken bedsheets can also make elegant garments.

Instructions

  1. Making a basic Greek-style dress

    • 1

Place your bed sheet around your body with you directly in the middle of it lengthwise.

    • 2

Tuck one edge of the bed sheet under your armpit.

    • 3

Hold onto the other edge of the bed sheet, wrapping the bed sheet around your body.

    • 4

Tuck the side edge of the bed sheet into the top edge. You can also pin it down.

    • 5

Wrap a belt around your waist to finish off the dress. Pull out some of the bed sheet around the waist out for a puffed-out appearance.

    Making a one-shoulder dress

    • 6

Make a one-shoulder dress by wrapping the dress around your body, using your arms to hold it down at the sides.

    • 7

Take two corners of the bed sheet and pull them over one shoulder.

    • 8

Take the pin and pin the two corners of the bed sheet at the shoulder to create a one-shouldered dress.

    • 9

Place a belt around your waist.

    • 10

Pull out some of the bed sheet to puff out over the belt.

Tips & Warnings

  • If your bed sheet is too wide, fold it in half lengthwise. If it is too long, fold it in half widthwise for a shorter, knee-length dress.
