How to Put Up a Party Tent
Put up a party tent for shaded service outdoors. Party tents are commonly used by vendors at events for displays and demonstrations. Restaurants often set up outdoor bar service under one of these temporary canopies. These collapsible frame tents come in one piece with the canopies attached from 10 by 10 to 10 by 20 foot sizes. Pull the tent out of the carrying bag. Place it in the center of the set up area with the canopy up.

Pick up one of the poles with both hands and have your helper pick up the pole opposite yours. Lift the tent and walk backwards to pull the accordian frame open until the canopy stretches out completely. Some party tents have spring loaded ball clips that fit into sleeve tabs on the upper frame to keep it from recoiling. Be sure clips are in the slots if your tent has them.

Lift the legs. Push the ball tab through the slot on the telescopic leg and pull the lower leg down to extend it. Ask your helper to raise the opposite leg to the same height. Tab slots are available for various leg heights. Have your helper hold the tent in place while you adjust the remaining legs to the same height.

Use optional tie downs for windy conditions. Ties are made to fit into slots at the bottom of the legs. Hammer ties into the ground through the leg slots and clip the quick release attachment pins onto the legs.

Tips & Warnings
Even smaller party tents weigh more than one person should lift and carry. Ask for carrying help or use a rolling container.
