Everyone wants full, pouty, sexy lips but not everyone wants to go through painful injections or spend the money on them. I've put together an easy recipe for a DIY lip plumper you can make at home.
These ingredients are not hard to find if you know where to look and don't be discouraged by the prices of the essential oils...you'll only need a very small amount for this recipe and you'll be able to use them for hundreds of other useful things, most will last a long time.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Essential oils of:
  • Cinnamon leaf - 30dps
  • Cassia - 35-37dps
  • Wintergreen - 3dps
  • Spearmint - 12dps
  • Capsicum-1-2dps
  • Peppermint - see below
  • (mentha arvensis - 20dps)
  • (mentha piperita - 8dps)
  • Clove - 2dps
  • Ginger - 5dps
  • Helichrysum - 7dps
  • Lemon - 6dps
  • Vitamin E - 3 drops (for preservative)
  • 1/2 cup beeswax
  • 1/3 cup coconut oil
  • pyrex measuring cup
  • containers for your lip plumper
  • color or mica if desired
  1. Step 1

Gather ingredients and items needed. Measure the beeswax into the pyrex cup and melt in the microwave in short bursts until melted. You may also use the double boiler method. I like the microwave as it shortens the time. But be careful and don't let it boil...just keep an eye and watch until it melts a little and then stir to finish the melting process.

  2. Step 2

Measure and add the coconut oil into the melted wax (or other suitable oil such as jojoba, olive or rosehip seed oil). You may use any oil you like. I sometimes use a little less of the oil and add a bit of shea butter for extra moisturizing qualities. Stir together and blend well.

  3. Step 3

Next, add 1 teaspoon of your lip plumper essential oil blend and stir well to incorporate. You may add color or mica at this stage if you so desire. Personally, I keep it plain and simple as I like the natural color and scent. And remember less is more! Do not attempt to add more of the essential oil blend as you may cause harm to yourself, these are very potent oils (especially the capsicum...use caution when blending as this may burn you).

  4. Step 4

After everything is mixed well, cool slightly (you don't want to pour this while it is too hot) and pour into desired containers. Cool completely and apply as needed. Walla! You'll have wonderfully full, pouty lips everytime.
But beware! This stuff is not for the faint of heart...it is very potent and will sting when applied (that gives you the bee-stung look and will naturally plump your lips).
And please be aware that if you are not going to use lip balm twist-up containers and are using a small jar where you'll be applying directly with fingers, know that you must wash your hands completely after each use so you do not get this anywhere near your eyes! It will burn!!!
