Changing the faceplate on a cellular phone is a fast and easy way to jazz up the look of your phone. Choose from solid color, metallic, sparkled or patterned faceplates. With so many choices you'll find one that represents your unique sense of style.

Things You'll Need

  • Flip-style cell phone
  • Tweezers
  • Faceplate
  • Optical-sized Phillips screwdriver
  • Optical-sized flathead screwdriver

Instructions

      Turn your phone over and remove the back cover to expose the battery. Remove the battery from the phone. On some cell phone models you may have to remove the battery cover using one of the optical screwdrivers.

      Open your flip-style cell phone. Using tweezers, or your fingernails, remove the rubber stickers that cover the screws used to hold your cell phone faceplate together.

      Use the optical-sized Phillips screwdriver to remove the screws from your cell phone faceplate. Once the screws have been removed, use the optical-sized flathead screwdriver to unscrew and remove the phone's front and back faceplates.

      Align the new front faceplate with the cell phone screen. Snap the back faceplate on to the back of the cell phone. Replace the screws and use the optical-sized screwdrivers to tighten them.

      Replace the cell phone battery. Cover the battery with the battery cover and snap into place. Your new cell phone faceplate is now attached.

Tips & Warnings

  • Keep a small cup handy to hold all of the small screws while you're changing your faceplate so that you don't lose them.

  • Always remember to remove the cell phone battery before opening up the phone to change the faceplate. Failure to remove the cell phone battery could result in injury.
