1
Wash your skin using a good cleanser that’s appropriate for your skin type. For example, if you have dry skin, look for a creamy cleanser. If you have oily skin, be sure to choose an oil-free cleanser. Cleanse your face every evening with warm water and just a drop of cleanser, then rinse with cool or lukewarm water.
-
2
Exfoliate your skin with a microdermabrasion kit once a week. Microdermabrasion removes dead skin cells to make your skin glow and keep it looking youthful.

3
Tone your skin if desired. Some experts maintain that toners aren’t necessary if you use a good cleanser. However, toning is also said to remove any remaining traces of oil, dirt and makeup.
-
4
Moisturize your skin. This is the most important step in your beauty regimen, no matter what your skin type. Use a day moisturizer with UV protection to prevent sun damage, the leading cause of wrinkles. Use a different moisturizer at night.

See a dermatologist on a regular basis to make sure you're using the correct products for your skin type and to help with problems such as extreme dryness, discoloring or acne.

Tips & Warnings
Warm water loosens dirt and clogged pores, while cool water closes your pores after cleansing.
Remove any makeup before cleansing your skin, using a proper makeup remover.
Use a gentle microdermabrasion kit with very small grains. Large grains can damage or irritate your skin.
If your skin feels tight, it needs more moisture.
If you find the skin under your eyes is wrinkled or you have dark circles, you can purchase eye creams meant specifically for this delicate area.
Never use bar soaps on your face, as they can be drying.
Never use very hot or very cold water on your facial skin, as this can damage your capillaries.
Don’t over-cleanse your face—once a day is usually enough. Splashing lukewarm water on your face in the morning is better than recleansing.
Don’t over-moisturize your face-- this can clog your pores and give you blackheads and pimples.
Don't use moisturizers with sunscreen at night, as sunscreen ingredients can be harmful if you don’t give your skin a break.
