Things You'll Need:
- Track extensions technique
- Cornrow track extensions technique
- Skin weft hair extensions
-
Step 1
Make sure your hair is strong and healthy enough to wear extensions. To find out, take a strand of hair in your hand and carefully pull it. Should it come out quickly it's not suitable for extensions. However, if it doesn't come out easily then your hair will be okay. Check with your stylist to see if your scalp and hair are in good condition before you wear extensions.
-
Step 2
Decide what technique is best for your hair. The track extensions technique, also named pinch weaving, places tracks to follow your natural hair. Tiny tracks of hair are placed horizontally close to the scalp to add support to the piece. When they're brushed over, the tracks are hidden and all that is noticeable is gorgeous long hair. You can leave your hair long, swoop it to one side or braid it.
-
Step 3
Use the cornrow tracking technique, an older yet still popular style that is much like the tracking technique, except braids are used to make the tracks. You can also use tree braiding, which allows hair to be attached without glue. Instead, it is weaved directly into the natural hair in small layers.
-
Step 4
You can use hair extensions for short hair, as well, as they can be found in many different lengths---and they also allow you to change the look of your hair, such as from straight to curly.
-
Step 5
Make sure your stylist knows how to style hair with extensions, which are like real hair and can be styled in many different ways. And whether they are wavy, curly or straight, they can be colored to match your existing hair or any other shade you choose

on 9/15/2009 I agree with the instructions. I recommend the hairextensionsguide.com as well for finding stylist and http://www.fusionhairsupply.com for hair extensions supplies and practice kits. The most important key to wearing hair extension is to make sure you choose the hair extensions method that is right for you.
