You may not be able to sit down with coaches and players before a game, but with a computer and a little time, you can get 90 percent of the information that network announcers use to prepare for a broadcast.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Determine which game you want to watch.
Step2
Go to the Internet and get injury information from ESPN.com. This will tell you key areas of weakness that a team may have.
Step3
Go to the Web site for The Sporting News and click on "NFL." Go to the team directory and click on the two teams that will be playing.
Step4
Click on the icon that says "depth charts." Hit Print and print out the depth charts.
Step5
Click on the roster icon and print these out as well.
Step6
Find the statistics page and, again, print these out.
Step7
Go to Sportspages.com and click on the icons of the two teams. This will give you a menu with the local team sports pages. Open these and print out relevant articles.
Step8
Follow along with the spotting chart as the ball moves from player to player. Use the roster to determine the size, weight and origin (college) of each player. Augment your analysis by studying the statistics. Get the general overview by reading the beat writers' articles.
