Hummels are very expensive figurines that consistently go up in value. Almost always, Hummels are protected or encased, but they still get dirty on occasion. When they do get dirty, there is a special and delicate way that they must be cleaned.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Blush brush
  • Two small bowls
  • Soft cloth
  • Mild detergent
  • Warm water
  1. Step 1

Remove the Hummels, one at a time, and carefully put them in a safe and flat area.

  2. Step 2

Pick up each Hummel individually, and place your finger over the air hole that is located at the bottom of the figurine. Lock it in place tightly so no moisture can get inside.

  3. Step 3

Take a blush brush and immerse it in small bowl mixed with warm water and mild detergent. Wash the Hummels with this solution, still holding the bottom tightly. This method will allow you to get in every nook and cranny of the figurine.

  4. Step 4

Rinse your Hummel by dipping a soft rag in clean warm water and gently removing any soap residue that may have been left behind.

  5. Step 5

Let the Hummel air dry before placing it back in the encasement or on the shelf.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use baby shampoo as your mild detergent. Make sure that if the Hummel slips out of your hand it will be protected.
  • The interior of your Hummel is not glazed or waterproof, so it is important that no moisture get inside.
