How to Word a Baby Shower Thank-You Note
A baby shower is a common way to celebrate the arrival of a new member to your family. In addition to the food and festivities, baby showers allow your guests to gift you with some of the items you will need in order to care for your baby. After the shower, it is polite to send your guests a simple thank-you card to express your gratitude for their attendance and gifts. A short, handwritten note is proper etiquette to thank your guests for attending your baby shower.

1
Gather a list of names and addresses of the guests who hosted and attended your baby shower. Make notes of the gifts that each guest brought, as well. You can write this list by hand or create a spreadsheet on your computer. Choose a format that will be easy for you to refer to.
-
2
Handwrite the recipient's name and a personal note. Use a pen with black or blue ink that will not bleed through the paper. Thank-you notes should not be typed or done en masse, as this appears impersonal. Even if your thank-you cards have a prewritten message, include a handwritten note to each of your guests.

Thank each guest for attending the baby shower. For example, you could say, "Thank you for attending Baby Joseph's shower and sharing in the celebration of his upcoming birth." Or you could write something like, "We enjoyed your company at the baby shower. It means so much to us that you were able to attend."

4
Thank the recipient for the specific gift she brought to the shower. Reference your list and gift registry to determine what your guests purchased on your behalf. An acceptable phrase to use is, "Please accept our deepest gratitude for the stroller and bottles." You can also thank your guest informally. For example, you can write, "I love the sailor suit you picked out for the baby! After we play dress-up, I will be sure to send you pictures of the baby."
-
5
Thank the recipient for a gift card or cash gift by describing how you will put it to use. Let the guest know how her gift will benefit you and the baby. She will enjoy hearing that her gift will be put to good use. For example, "Thank you for the generous gift. It will come in handy for extra diapers and outfits for the baby."
-
6
End the thank-you note with an upbeat sentence that thanks the guest for her attendance and gift. A polite phrase would be, "Thank you again for joining us to welcome our new bundle of joy into the world."
