Instructions

    • 1

Use a foam paintbrush to paint the ceramic tiles with a thin layer of glass and ceramic glossy glaze and allow this to dry before moving on.

    • 2

Place the stencil evenly over the tile. Tape around the edges to secure the stencil to the tile to ensure there is no slipping.

    • 3

Dip the flat paint brush into the paint and blot the excess paint onto a paper towel. Paint the negative spaces on the stencil. Use as many different colors as you need for the design, but always be sure to wash the paint brush before using a new color to prevent color blending. Repeat for all the ceramic tiles you are making.

    • 4

Allow the paint to dry on the ceramic tiles for the amount of time directed by the paint manufacturer. After the paint has dried, paint a glossy glaze over the painted ceramic tiles using the foam paint brush and allow the glaze to dry.

    • 5

Write a phrase or other wording onto the ceramic tiles using a thin, black permanent marker.

    • 6

Place self-adhesive strips of magnetic tape onto the back of the ceramic tiles to hang them on the refrigerator or use tacky glue to adhere a piece of ribbon to the back in order to hang the ceramic tiles on the wall.
