Have you ever gotten a flower bouquet and wanted to preserve it so that it would last forever? Well, you can without any special tools and with very little effort. This technique works well with roses, cockscomb, hydrangeas, carnations, baby's breath and more. It also works equally well with small and large bouquets.

Instructions

    • 1

Cut a 2' length of twine.

    • 2

Bunch the bouquet in your hand so that you are holding the stems in the middle with the flowers facing downward.

    • 3

Wrap the bottom of the stems in twine and tie it tightly. Make sure that there is about four inches of string hanging from the knot.

    • 4

Use the extra string to hang the flowers upside down. You can hang them from a curtain rod, a cup hook or a nail. Any dry, cool place will work.

    • 5

Take the flowers down once they are completely dry. This can take several weeks depending on the type of flower.

Tips & Warnings

  • Long-stemmed flowers work best for this type of preserving method.

  • Make sure that the flower buds are facing downward as they hang or the petals may fall off.

  • Do not put the flower bouquet in an area where fans will blow on them. This may loosen the petals.
