- toilet paper or paper towel cardboard tube
- paper, fabric, ribbon

Step 1
Use the cardboard roll from paper towels to make Valentine's napkin rings. Cut off the end of the roll, about 2 inches wide and cut the ring open, allowing it to fit over the napkins.

Wrap the cardboard tube so that you cannot see the cardboard and attach with glue or tape. Use Valentine's colors for these napkin rings. Red or pink paper or fabric would work but you could also try untraditional colors like black and red or brown and pink.

Add layers of ribbon or paper to the napkin rings. These can be simple solids or you could make it fun with patterns like polka dots or stripes.

Embellish the napkin rings with Valentine's Day items. Silver hearts will look classy while plastic pink lips will be fun. Look for stickers that say love or use alphabet stickers to create X's and O's.

Fit the napkin rings over the napkins for your Valentine's dinner. Match the cloth napkins to the napkin rings.
