Things You'll Need:
- pantry cloest
- cleaning supplies (optional)
- time
-
Step 1
Before you can start to organize a pantry closet, you must examine it first. Throw away anything that's clearly old or you don't need anymore. If you find something that doesn't belong, take that out as well. Also, if you notice that the shelves are filthy, you might want to consider cleaning them before you start to organize a pantry closet.
-
Step 2
Move all things that you do not want your children to play with to the top shelf of the pantry closet (like wine or delicate China).
-
Step 3
Then organize the things you use daily in the pantry closet to the most convenient shelf, probably somewhere in the middle where you don't have to stretch your arm or bend your knees.
-
Step 4
When you organize a pantry closet, try to keep similar things together. For instance, keep all the pasta together, all the soup cans together, and etc.
-
Step 5
Organize non-food stuff either near the top or bottom shelves, but try to keep them together to seperate them from the food.
-
Step 6
The food items you use less offten, should go near the top or bottom of a pantry closet, unless there's still room with the daily used food items.
-
Step 7
Organize a pantry closet, by putting heavier items on the bottom of the pantry closet or near the bottom (rice bags, containers holding flour, potato sacks, etc.). It's more dangerous to get a heavy object from up above than lifting it from the ground.
-
Step 8
After you organize a pantry closet, show it off to your friends! They'll be surprised.
