Instructions

First you need to buy an accordion wallet. You can find these online, at thrift stores, or anywhere that sells clothing and accessories. Find a wallet that suites you! Make sure the wallet has enough sections to separate your coupons.

      Post-it durable tabs

Once you have your wallet you need to get or make some sort of tabs to label the sections in your wallet. You can hot glue small pieces of fabric and color code the sections or you can buy the post-it tabs. The post-it tabs will obviously need to be replaced on a regular basis. They will not stick forever onto the fabric of your wallet.

When you have your tabs in place, you need to decide how you want to split up your coupons.

      Some suggestions:
      * Expiration Date - This is useful so you can shop according to the priority of your coupons expiration. This also saves you the hassle of sorting through each section at the grocery store and checking the expiration dates.
      * Alphabetically - You can either do this by the product's name or by the general item. (Example: Iams Cat Food or Cat Food, Kraft Singles or American Cheese, etc.)
      * By Product - This is my personal favorite way to sort my coupons. Label each section like 'Beauty and Bath, Fruit and Veggie, Meats and Cheese, Snacks, Paper Products, etc.' This will make it easy to find what coupon you are looking for when you pick up a specific item.
      * By Isle - If you usually only shop at one grocery store, than you probably know the isles pretty well. Sort your coupons according to which isle they are in, this should make your shopping super quick and easy!

The last step is to gather and clip your coupons! Joining a coupon train is a great way to acquire coupons that you actually want and need! It's also a great way to help out other people. Check the resources section below to find out how to start your own coupon train.

Go to the store and try out your new coupon holder. If you don't like the way you have organized your sections, then you can always change it! Save on!
