Make a Friendship Bracelet

Making friendship bracelets never seems to go out of style. Year after year I still see children and even adults wearing these homemade bracelets. It can be a fun activity for you and your child to create or even allow your child and their friends to create for each other.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Embroidery thread, any colors you like
  • Scissors
  1. Step 1

Start by taking six strands of embroidery thread, any colors you choose. Hold the embroidery strands together with the ends matched up, then you want to tie a know one inch from an end. Tie it twice to secure it well. To make it easy you can tape the knot to a table, or place something heavy on it so it does not move.

  2. Step 2

Now either twist the strands repeatedly in the same direction until it is tightly wound, or braid it all the way till it is close to the end.

  3. Step 3

Tie the loose ends of your strings with a square knot, this is basically just tying it twice like you did in the beginning. You can choose to place beads or other embellishments onto the bracelet before tying it.

  4. Step 4

Tie the bracelet onto your friends or your own wrist now and tie it again twice. Trim any loose ends.

  5. Step 5

There are many different ways to make friendship bracelets, but this is the easiest way for beginners. There is no wrong or right way. You can truly make a unique one by doing it differently then you have ever seen before.
