How to Make A Classic Mojito Drink

Use mint leaves to make a Mojito.

A Mojito is a popular mixed drink made with mint and rum often served at parties and events. While there are different ways to make a Mojito, try the original classic Mojito recipe. Mix up a batch of these and enjoy them with friends on a hot summer day.

Things You'll Need

• Saucepan
• Pitcher
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 1/2 cup water
• 20 mint leaves
• 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
• 1 1/2 cups light rum
• 4 cups cold club soda
• Ice

Instructions

1. Boil ½ cup of water in a saucepan on the stove. Add 1/2 cup of sugar to the water and stir until it dissolves. Let the mixture cool to room temperature.

2. Pour the mixture into a pitcher and add your mint leaves. Stir it all together.

3. Add the club soda, lime juice and rum. Stir well for about three minutes and then leave it in your fridge to settle.

4. Serve the cocktail on ice and garnish the cup with mint leaves and a slice of lime.
