Things You'll Need:
- CRUST AND TOPPING
- 1 cup flour
- 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (room temperature)
- 2 1/2 cups quick cooking oats
- 2 tablespoons orange or apple juice
- FILLING
- 1/4 cup packed dark brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons flour
- Pinch of salt
- 3 1/2 cups of fresh berries like blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, etc.
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
Grease a 9x13 inch pan. -
Step 2
In a bowl combine together the flour light brown sugar, and salt.
Stir together. -
Step 3
Now add the butter, and mix until well combined.
Should be a crumbly constituency.
Now add the oats and mix together well.
Again it should be a crumbly constituency. -
Step 4
Now add the butter, and mix until well combined.
Should be a crumbly constituency. -
Step 5
Now add the oats and mix together well.
Again it should be a crumbly constituency. -
Step 6
Remove about 1 1/2 cup of the mixture and reserve for later.
Add the juice into the mixture and mix together again. -
Step 7
Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of your greased pan using your fingertips or the back of a spoon.

Now for the filling, combine the sugar, flour, and salt and stir.
Add in the berries, vanilla and the lemon juice.
Gently toss the ingredients together. -
Step 9
Place this mixture into the pan over the crust mixture.
Now place the reserved crust on top of the berries by sprinkling it. It does not need to be perfectly even. -
Step 10
Place in the preheated oven and bake for 35 to 4 minutes or until the top is nice and golden brown.

Remove from the oven and allow it to cool on a wire rack. When it is nice and cool (about two hours sitting) cut into about 16 bars.
Store any leftovers in an airtight container.
