If you always feel like the mosquito magnet among everyone else, there is a way to save yourself without using harmful and smelly pesticides. Society is becoming more conscious and educated about the affects of these chemicals. Make your own natural mosquito repellent to control what is going on your family’s skin. Use essential oils which mosquitoes find distasteful for a refreshing change of chemical smells. Essential oils can be found in most health food stores

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 10-25 drops of Essential Oils (lemon eucalyptus oil, cinnamon oil, citronella oil, basil, cedar wood, juniper, lemon, myrrh, pine, rose geranium OR rosemary)
  • 2 tablespoons of (olive oil, witch hazel, or aloe vera gel)
  1. Step 1

Choose the essential oil you prefer from the list of ingredients. You may want to test the chosen oil on your skin to make sure you do not get a reaction. Combine the 10-25 drops of essential oil with witch hazel, olive oil OR aloe vera. Place chosen ingredients in a glass jar with a tight fitting lid. And shake well to mix.

  2. Step 2

Rub the homemade natural insect repellent onto skin or clothing. If you chose the witch hazel as your base you can put in a spray bottle to apply.

  3. Step 3

Re-apply the insect repellent every hour or after swimming and exorcize

  4. Step 4

Store this mosquito control product away from heat and sunlight.
